How to import a verified list into GSA SER
A verified list only helps if GSA SER actually uses it as verified targets. Here’s the clean way to load one — and the one mistake that makes the software re-test everything from scratch.
Steps vary slightly by GSA SER version, but the flow is the same. Budget about ten minutes the first time.
Step 1 — Unzip the list
Download and unzip the file. You’ll get site-list files (.sl or .txt), usually split by platform — articles, web 2.0, social bookmarks, and so on.
Step 2 — Find your site lists folder
In GSA SER open Options → Advanced and check where your site lists live. Many people create a dedicated folder for a purchased list so it stays separate from self-scraped targets.
Step 3 — Import as verified targets
Right-click your project (or the global lists) and choose Import target URLs → from site lists, then point it at the unzipped files. This is the important bit: import them into the Verified list so GSA SER treats them as confirmed.
The mistake to avoid: dumping a verified list into the “Identified” bucket or pasting URLs into the wrong field. Do that and GSA SER re-identifies and re-tests everything — wasting the work you just paid for. Import to verified.
Step 4 — Point your projects at it
In each project’s Data tab, set the source to use the Verified site list. Now the project posts straight to confirmed targets instead of crawling for new ones.
Step 5 — Run and watch the verified count
Start the project. With a fresh, clean list your verified count should start climbing quickly. If it doesn’t move, check your proxies and captcha service before blaming the list — both can stall an otherwise good run.
Keeping results high over time
Even a great list ages. Re-import the updated version when your provider refreshes it, and you’ll hold a high verified rate. This is exactly why a regularly-rebuilt list beats a one-time download. Running at scale? Make sure your VPS can keep up.
